ACT ASPIRE is the new assessment replacing the ACT PLAN (9th-11th grades) and the ACT EXPLORE (8th grade). MCA will administer the ASPIRE to all 3rd - 10th grade students in April each year. The ASPIRE is written on grade level by the ACT organization and designed to measure a student’s learning in English, math, reading, science and writing. Seeing a student’s progress from year to year will enable MCA and families to identify gaps in learning, strengths and weaknesses for each individual, and for the school to evaluate our curriculum for proper vertical alignment across grade levels. The standards are tied to the ACT College Readiness Benchmarks, measuring if a student is progressing toward college readiness as appropriate for his/her grade level.
